Dancing on Ice Competition
Relive those magic moments of the smash hit TV series Dancing on Ice with the just released Granada Ventures' Dancing on Ice DVD, presented by skating legends Torvill and Dean and featuring all the best parts of the TV show, plus the bit you have all been waiting to see - Bonnie Langford performing the Bolero during dress rehearsals. If you’ve become an armchair ice-dance expert and can tell the difference between a Lutz and an Axel and are wondering where to hang your blades on a Saturday night now that Dancing on Ice has reached its final conclusion, fret not, Granada Ventures is rush releasing a spectacular DANCING ON ICE DVD on 3 April 2006. Introduced by the legendary Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean DANCING ON ICE includes highlights from the compelling series which attracted more than 12 million viewers weekly, plus a 60 minute bonus extra of Torvill and Dean Fire and Ice. By the end of their epic journey Kelly Holmes, John Barrowman, Andi Peters, Bonnie Langford, David Seaman, Stefan Booth, Sean Wilson, Andrea McLean, Gaynor Faye, and Tamara Beckwith had wooed the public, impressed the judges and lived out their dreams to dance on ice! Ten celebrities had set out to see who would be good enough to last the distance and on Saturday 4th March 2006, the judges and the general public made their choice – actress Gaynor Faye, star of Coronation Street and Fat Friends and her ice-dancing partner Daniel Whiston, a UK Gold Medallist and principal dancer of Hot Ice, were crowned the Ice Dance Champions of 2006. Torvill and Dean, who were reunited on ice for the first time since 1998 for DANCING ON ICE present their own magical memories from the series and have compiled their Top Ten countdown comprising the most dramatic and memorable performances from the series, on ice as well as behind the scenes. Also included is Gaynor and Daniel’s final winning performance of the Bolero, Bonnie Langford’s mesmerising final rehearsal performance of the Bolero which of course was not seen on television and a section devoted to the magic of Ravel’s Bolero a piece of music that has become synonymous with Torvill and Dean.
