Beckenham Inline Hockey ClubWebsite: http://beckenhaminline.20m.com Beckenham is quite a large hockey club, with four teams spread over the age groups. The senior session runs from 20:30 to 22:00 every Saturday night, and is non-contact, and played with a puck. Cost is 5 pounds.
Plumstead Skater HockeyNick Knight runs a recreational skater hockey session every Wednesday night at Plumstead Leisure Centre, and welcomes any players. This is a contact session, so body checking is allowed and play is a little more physical than no-contact hockey. If anything, that only adds to the fun in my opinion. It's strongly recommended to wear full protective gear, but only a helmet and gloves are required to play. As with all indoor hockey it's a good idea to wear shin guards, elbow pads, face guard, box, and a girdle/hockey shorts. This is a relatively informal and fun session that runs from 20:45 to 22:15 every Wednesday. Cost is 3 pounds.
SkateZone Skater Hockey Club - HounslowWebsite: http://www.skatezoneshc.co.uk/. Hounslow SkateZone play skater hockey, and so are full contact much like Plumstead. Battersea have played several matches against Hounslow, and had a good time doing so. The sports hall is conveniently located close to Hounslow East (Piccadilly Line) Tube Station and Hounslow Bus Garage, with easy access to the pedestrianised High Street.
Disclaimer:Playing inline hockey is a dangerous sport, and neither LondonSkaters.com, myself, or any of the clubs mentioned above can take any responsibility for your decision to both play and take on the associated risks. It's entirely up to you to wear the appropriate safety gear and play in a responsible manner.
