Eddy Matzger workshop in London

June 6th - 8th 2003

I'm so excited that Eddy Matzger is coming to town!  If you didn't already know, Eddy is a highly respected and world class inline speedskater who teaches awesome workshops, is an excellent teacher, and has boundless enthusiasm for inline skating.

Scott Nilsson wrote this article about Eddy's love for inline skating and his good sportsmanship.  The article received huge attention because so many skaters from around the world identified with it, and feel the same way.

What is it?

  • Two and a half days of intensive personal tuition from one of the best speedskaters in the world.
  • You don't need to be fit, and you don't need to be fast to take part.  The workshop is about improving YOUR skating ability, and concentrates on things such as technique, drills, etc.
  • All ages and all abilities are welcomed
  • You'll get the chance to learn new technique and improve your current skills.

As you can see from the photos, most workshop attendees are ordinary inline skaters who simply want to improve.  You'll learn all kinds of proper technique, such as pushing through the heel, skating the D-way, the double push, etc.

This page shows the schedule of a sample workshop.

Some more details on what you can expect.

When?

June 6th to 8th, 2003.

What others have said:

Here are some quotes from happy workshop graduates.  You can see the full list here on this page at skatecentral.com.

I did my first cross-over.....It was truly a defining moment for me.

...now I have lots more confidence and BALANCE on skates....my fear of falling has diminished quite a bit...

... I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated getting the chance to meet you and learn from you. It was a fantastic weekend and made a huge impact on my skating.

... Please dont even think that your workshops are not worth vastly more than you charge. Your talent, knowledge, patience, teaching ability, and personal attention are invaluable. I cant even begin to measure the benefits I have taken away from your workshops. Not to mention they were probably the most fun I have ever had.

...now I expend about 60% of the energy I used to for the same or better speed.
