Tuesday 21st September 2004

Here's my take on the London Inline Marathon 2004 - article.

I'm looking forward to the Berlin inline marathon now, and hope to see some of you there!  LondonSkaters Speed Team has a large contingent going so look out for our skinsuits.

Saturday 18th September 2004

Sebastian Baumgartner of Experts-in-Speed has this cool Berlin marathon guide program.  There are several groups and the aim is to find a group to skate with in order to work together and achieve a good marathon time.  Each group has a guide who will set the pace accurately to help you achieve your chosen goal time.  The cost is 20 Euros and you can book online on Sebastian's site.

Good luck to all the London Inline Marathon participants today - let's hope the predicted rain doesn't affect this afternoon's full marathon.

Update: What a great day!  A super fun marathon that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Howling wind and light showers made for an interesting race - luckily the track didn't get drenched as it otherwise becomes very slippery.  Have to say the temperature felt perfect, especially when put with the total of 500m ascent over the 26 laps of the 1 mile Eastway Cycle Circuit.  Here are the unofficial top 10 - the full results will no doubt be posted by the organisers in the next day or two:

1 Mauro Guenci 1:20:29.80
2 Marcel Louw 1:22:54.70
3 Luca Bagnolini 1:26:23.10
4 Paolo Borgatti 1:30:19.60
5 Etienne Bobenrieth 1:43:15.85
6 Vincent Henry 1:44:50.50
7 David Ford 1:47:52.75
8 Jan Skopecek 1:49:34.25
9 Peter Carr 1:49:50.15
10 Mike van Erp 1:49:54.60

A big thanks to the hard working organisers of the LondonSkaters Speed Team.
