Thursday 31st August - Updated

Added a page about the Skate Fresh skate school.  I met these guys by chance at Hyde Park, and started taking lessons with them, and have never looked back.  Excuse pimping for my friends, but they are worth it! ;-)

Friday 18th August 2000

I've posted the details on a visit to the Netherlands and the Amsterdam Friday Night Skate from Friday 18th August.  We really enjoyed skating there.  The Netherlands is excellent skating, perhaps because everyone is already used to bicycles.  Skating also seems a lot more popular, with two small sports shops in Apeldoorn, a small town, both being able to put any of the London skate shops to shame in terms of choice and excellence.  A pity we didn't make it to any of the bigger shops in Amsterdam!

Saturday 12th August 2000

A group of about 12 of us met down in Brighton for a fun skate.  This was one of the nicest days this summer, but not so hot that the tar melted, although one or two patches did get a bit soft!  We did a good tour around the western end of Brighton and Hove, and even got some free cokes in bottles as part of some promotion.  I miss drinking coke from bottles like we used to get in Africa - it always seems to taste better than in a can.  Afterward we went out for a pizza in Church Road, off Grand Avenue - anyone remember the name of the restaurant - mail me.
