Friday 29th August

Various inline skating helmet reviews here.

Gateskate Trailskate review here.

Wednesday 27th August

Finally got around to writing up the Eddy Matzger workshop here in London 2003.

Secondly, just a reminder on the free fitness skating clinic this Sunday.  Eddy's double push drills will feature, and afterwards some of us are going down to the Mall for some training.  Feel free to join us!

Don't forget to enter the London Inline Marathon as soon as possible - there's not long left before the race on 14th September.  If you can skate the London Skate, then you can certainly finish the whole marathon since it's only twice as far.  Of course you can take the easy choice and only enter the half marathon!  The organisers, team e2xn London, need your support since they've shelled out a lot of money for the circuit and the Championchip race timing system.

Thursday 21st August

LondonSkaters t-shirts are now available.

Wednesday 20th August

The next fitness and technique session is on Sunday 31st August at 12.00 in front of the Albert Memorial.  It's free and will be working on technique rather than testing your fitness - if you read this you're invited!  This time we'll be doing a whole bunch of Eddy Matzger's double push drills which are not just good for your double push but are magic for your balance and edge control.

Salomon TR inline skating helmet review here.

Sunday 3rd August

Davey Speedstar wrote this cool article about the Eastbourne Skate 2003 event last weekend.

Wednesday 23rd July

Blakes fitness clinic this Sunday at the Albert Memorial, working on cross-overs this month.  All abilities welcome.  See this page for more details.

Thursday 17th July

Come and join London's skaters in the first London Inline Marathon. This year the race is to be held at the Lea Valley 1 mile cycle track. The organisers' ambitions are for this race to move onto the streets of London and grow into one of the larger marathons in the world. Imagine the bragging rights to having been on the first marathon when it goes large on the streets!

Interview with Fritz Blaw published here on the interviews page.  Big cool skating life story from Mr Motorblade of Austin Tx himself!

Friday 4th July

Welcome to our 1000th forum member, scarlethue!  Congratulations, and you receive a free LondonSkaters t-shirt as a prize.

Wednesday 25th June

Reminder that Blake's fitness skating clinic is on this Sunday.  It's all about technique and how to skate faster and more efficiently, so you won't get a hard workout.  All abilities welcome.  See this page for more details.

Monday 9th June

A review of the Rollerblade Lightning 05 2003 model here by Bill Hicks.  Thanks, Bill!

Friday 6th June

Yeehah!  Big apologies for the server downtime last week.  I've ended up moving hosts as a result and hopefully won't experience same again.  The move happened on Monday morning, so everybody should be able to access the site by now.  Let me know if you have any problems!

Naomi recently had a cool trip to New York, spent some time skating there, and had a flight back on Concorde.  I'm jealous!  Read her article here.

Tuesday 20th May

The first big skating event of the year is tomorrow!  Salomon and the London Skate have teamed up to bring you a skate, a big party, and boardercross.  If you can, join the streetskate at Hyde Park and skate with us to Spitalfields for the party, and come watch some boardercross.  If you're not confident of skating there, simply join us at Spitalfields at 21.30!  See www.londonskate.com for more details.

Blake's fitness clinic this Sunday.  Come join us if you want to learn to skate faster - all abilities are welcome.  See the fitness section for more information.

Tuesday 13th May

Just a reminder that the Royal Parks have asked the London Skate to move their starting point down away from the beach towards the bandstand, closer to the Hyde Park Corner end of the Serpentine Road.  Hope to see you there tomorrow!

Thursday 1st May

Just a little reminder that the London Skate starts next week, Wednesday May 7th.  The biggest street skate in the Capital, it's aimed at intermediate and above skaters, placing less emphasis on speed and more on safety.  See their website at www.londonskate.com. Read more about the London Skate here.

If you feel you aren't up to a street skate quite yet, skatefresh skate school and the London Skate guys have teamed up to offer free basic lessons at the same start point.

Party Time

Don't forget that Salomon have teamed up with the London Skate to bring a big skate and party to London on Wednesday May 21st.  This is normally the biggest inline event of the year, with at least 1500 skaters expected.
