Transpack Delta Lite skate backpackbag reviewNovember 2003
The Transpack Delta Lite bag is a medium-small backpack that I was given as part of the London 2003 Eddy Matzger workshop, as Eddy is sponsored by the company, amongst others. I was pretty pleased to finally get my hands on a Transpack backpack as a friend of mine from Atlanta, Bob Cardone, has been recommending these backpacks to me for years. I've used it extensively all summer and have found it ideal for my purposes. The bag is quite compact and holds just about the right amount of kit for a day's skating in Hyde Park. The skates fit nicely into a flap at the side of the bag, which covers the wheels and helps prevent any dust/dirt from your skates getting on your clothes. The bottom of the skates are held in by a loop that goes between the boot and heel wheel, and an adjustable strap over the top of the foot. Lastly there is a bungee cord that loops around the ankle cuff of each boot and pulls the skates together. This can also be used to hold a jacket. The skate holders can be used to tie your shoes in, although they're clearly not designed for that. I tend to jam the toe of my trainers in the heel wheel loop, and then tighten down the strap. Works best with my flip-flops, though. Inside the bag there is the main compartment, plus a medium-sized zipped pocket to hold bits and pieces. I normally keep some skate tools and other miscellaneous items in there. ConclusionA super skate bag with enough carrying capacity for most day trips, yet is small and light enough not to get in your way skating. The bag is real comfortable to wear and holds plenty for a day trip. External Links:www.transpack.net - the Transpack website. www.skatecentral.com - Eddy Matzger's website
